Constant Time Theory proposes that time is not a backdrop, a coordinate, or a dimension. It is the fundamental field from which all physical and experiential reality emerges. Everything that exists—space, matter, energy, pattern, information, and consciousness—is a manifestation of how this temporal field behaves.

In CTT, the universe is not situated within time.

The universe is made of time.

The Two Expressions of Time

Time manifests in two complementary modes of behaviour within the temporal field. These are not separate substances, but inseparable aspects of a single underlying reality:

Θ_E — The Renewing Expression (Dark Energy)

Θ_E is the active, creative behaviour of time. It is the universal push that drives the continuous re-instantiation of reality, moment by moment. It is expansive, uniform, and unstoppable.

Through Θ_E:

  • The universe is renewed everywhere at once,

  • The present moment comes into being,

  • The cosmos expands on large scales,

  • Light travels at the maximal renewal tempo.

Θ_E is time as pure becoming.

Θ_S — The Structuring Expression (Dark Matter)

Θ_S is the stabilising, organising behaviour of time.
It forms the skeletal architecture that persists across renewals: the patterns, symmetries, and structures that give the universe shape.

Through Θ_S:

  • matter gains form and stability,

  • galaxies and filaments are sculpted,

  • physical laws maintain consistency,

  • memory and information are stored in present configurations.

Θ_S is time as an enduring pattern.

Unity of the Two Expressions

Renewal without structure would yield chaos.
Structure without renewal would yield stasis.
Reality arises only because Θ_E and Θ_S interpenetrate—renewal creating the next moment, structure shaping what that moment becomes.

Together, they form the deep architecture of the cosmos:

  • Θ_E creates change

  • Θ_S preserves order

  • The universe emerges from their interplay

Θ_S as the Universe’s Structural Code

CTT compares Θ_S to a universal analogue of DNA.
Just as biological DNA preserves form across cycles of cellular renewal, Θ_S preserves cosmic structure across cycles of temporal renewal.

In this sense, Θ_S encodes:

  • gravitational architecture,

  • atomic and quantum stability,

  • the structure of matter,

  • the persistence of physical laws,

  • and the patterned behaviour of complex systems.

Patterns survive because Θ_S stabilises what endures and dissolves what cannot persist across renewal. The universe remembers not through a surviving past, but through patterns held in the present.

Spacetime as an Emergent Structure

Spacetime does not precede the temporal field. It emerges from it.

The geometry described by relativity—curvature, distance, duration, simultaneity—is a large-scale pattern formed by the interaction of Θ_E (renewal) and Θ_S (structure).

Where Θ_E and Θ_S behave uniformly, spacetime appears flat. Where Θ_S becomes dense or distorted, spacetime appears curved.

Thus:

  • Spacetime is the geometry of the temporal field.

  • Matter is structure within the temporal field.

  • Forces are behaviours of the temporal field.

  • Consciousness is experience within the temporal field.

Time does not exist within spacetime.
Spacetime exists within time.

The Necessity of Renewal

Renewal is not one behaviour among others; it is the essential act by which existence continues. Without renewal:

  • structure would not persist,

  • matter would not cohere,

  • motion could not occur,

  • causation would collapse,

  • and consciousness would vanish.

Renewal is the primitive operation of reality—the heartbeat of the cosmos.

Renewal as the Essence of Reality

CTT reduces the universe to its most straightforward coherent principle:

Reality exists because time renews it.
Everything else—patterns, laws, complexity, meaning—flows from this act.

Θ_E brings the present moment into being.
Θ_S gives that moment form.
Together, they generate the universe as a living, self-unfolding field of time.
